I maintained my own website for a very long time. I am not sure how long, but it has to be close to twenty years. I created it using a very fancy program which always remained a mystery to me, but I managed to build it. Once it was published, it became out of control, as I continued to edit it, having almost no idea what I was doing, The site had some fun features, such as music I loved, links to sites I enjoyed, and some animated icons, so my students got a big kick out of it, which encouraged me to leave it up, even though it had problems.
Now that I am retired, my website is terribly out of date, and many of the features no longer function, so I have decided to embark on a project to update it. I spent several days trying to find a person or program which would help me do that. No luck. I tried to relearn that program I never understood, but that seemed too daunting, so I have decided to create a brand new site. As of this writing, I have not yet figured out how to do the music and links to other sites, but I am working on it.
I have no clue where this project is headed, which actually gives me great satisfaction, and I will admit that, although I have found an easier program with which to construct the pages, I still have absolutely no clue what I am doing. I think that may be a positive aspect of this project. Peruse at your own risk, but I make no claim to appropriateness or relevance. If you feel so inclined, feedback is welcomed.
